Edward Cullen is a very important character in the Twilight movies. He and his family are a coven of vampires, and he meets Bella Swan when they are at high school together. They soon fall in love, and he realizes that Bella wants to become a vampire as well. Edward refuses to transform her into a vampire until it is necessary because she would have died otherwise. During most of their relationship, Edward has to fight with himself to not kill Bella because he is in love with her; however, he is still a vampire. Robert Pattinson plays the role of Edward Cullen in the movies.

Bella Swan is one of the main characters in the Twilight movies. She is a teenager that moves in with her father, and she meets Edward Cullen while she is at school. She falls in love with Edward, but finds out that he and his family are vampires. This does not deter her from being with the one that she loves. Bella decides that she wants to become a vampire as well, but Edward refuses to transform her until after they are married and she almost dies while giving birth to their child. In the movies, this role is played by Kristen Stewart.
